About O’Shea

Steve Withers is the Managing Director of O’Shea Trades, a licensed plumber and registered builder, with a career built around people, leadership and a belief that the trades industry can continually raise the standard of service it provides to customers.

Steve’s path into the industry was not entirely conventional. After two and a half years studying law, he realised his future lay elsewhere and followed his father into plumbing. He quickly found his calling, going on to be recognised as Apprentice of the Year before building extensive experience across the plumbing and construction industries.

In 2012, Steve founded Vic Plumbing & Drainage and grew the business from the ground up. In 2021, he was given the opportunity to take over O’Shea Plumbing from founder Lawrie O’Shea. For Steve, taking on a business with such a strong history was about more than an acquisition. It was about protecting the reputation and values Lawrie had established since 1978 while building the business for its next generation.

Since then, Steve has led O’Shea’s evolution into a broader Melbourne home services business spanning plumbing, electrical, roofing, guttering, renovations and other essential services.

As both a tradesman and registered builder, Steve brings a practical understanding of how homes are built, maintained and improved. This experience has helped shape O’Shea’s move toward becoming a truly integrated home services business, capable of supporting customers across multiple trades and larger renovation and building projects.

A strong believer that the success of a business starts with its people, Steve has remained focused on building a culture where team members are supported to develop, take ownership and become the best version of themselves. He believes sustainable growth comes from strong systems, strong leadership and never losing sight of the customer experience.

Steve’s ambition for O’Shea is to create a home services company Melbourne families can rely on throughout the life of their home — one trusted team with the capability to help across multiple trades, while maintaining the personal accountability of a family-owned business.

Outside of work, family remains central to Steve’s life. Together with his wife and business partner Sabrina, he is raising their three children, Sienna, Tate and Olivia. Having moved more than 20 times and attended more than 12 schools himself as a child, Steve learned early that home is less about the building and more about the people in it — a perspective that continues to influence the business he is building today.

Sabrina Withers is a Director of O’Shea Trades, with a strong focus on marketing, brand, customer experience and business development, and a passion for building a home services business that Melbourne families can trust for the long term.

Sabrina met her husband and business partner, Steve, while they were both studying. In 2012, they started Vic Plumbing & Drainage together and began building the business from the ground up.

Throughout that journey, Sabrina developed a strong focus on growing businesses through marketing, building relationships and bringing people together around a shared vision. She played an integral role in building the brand, growing the customer base, strengthening the culture and helping shape the direction of the business alongside Steve’s trade and operational leadership.

In 2021, Sabrina and Steve took over O’Shea Plumbing from founder Lawrie O’Shea, beginning the next chapter of a Melbourne business established in 1978. Since then, Sabrina has helped lead O’Shea’s evolution across plumbing, electrical, roofing, renovations and broader home services, while protecting the family values, reputation and personal service behind the O’Shea name.

Sabrina is particularly focused on how O’Shea can make home ownership easier for its customers. From strengthening the brand and customer journey to introducing new technology, services, memberships and proactive home maintenance solutions, she is constantly looking for ways to create a simpler and more connected home services experience.

She believes the future of home services is about building genuine, long-term relationships with customers rather than simply completing individual jobs. Her vision is for O’Shea to become the trusted partner Melbourne families can turn to throughout the life of their home.

Bringing people together remains at the heart of Sabrina’s approach to business. She is passionate about creating a workplace where people feel connected to something bigger, building opportunities for the O’Shea team and supporting the families behind the business as it continues to grow.

Jarett Maddock is the General Manager of O’Shea Trades, overseeing a growing team across plumbing, electrical, roofing, renovations and broader home services. His role spans strategy, operations, sales, financial performance and people leadership, with a strong focus on helping build a business that can scale without losing its culture.

Jarett has built his career around the trades industry and brings a practical, hands-on approach to leadership. He is passionate about turning good people into high-performing teams, creating clear accountability and developing the systems and processes that make businesses more efficient and profitable.

At O’Shea, Jarett works closely with Steve and Sabrina to help lead the business through its next stage of growth across multiple divisions and locations. His focus is not simply on growing revenue, but on building the structure, culture and capability required to sustain that growth over the long term.

He has a particular interest in sales performance, leadership development and operational efficiency, and in creating an environment where people are challenged to improve, supported to succeed and accountable for delivering results.

Known for his direct and practical leadership style, Jarett believes strong businesses are built through strong people, clear expectations and consistent execution. He brings a strong understanding of the challenges involved in scaling a trades business while maintaining quality, culture and customer experience.

For Jarett, sustainable growth means building a business that performs at a high level without losing the people, standards and values that made it successful in the first place.

Kate has worked alongside Sabrina and Steve for more than 10 years, supporting the business through the evolution and growth of O’Shea Trades and becoming a trusted and highly valued part of the team along the way.

Her long-standing involvement gives her a strong understanding of the business, its people and the values that have shaped O’Shea over the years. Reliable, trustworthy and always willing to help, Kate is known for genuinely wanting the best outcome for everyone around her.

Kate has played an important role in supporting both the team and the broader business through periods of growth and change. She brings a calm, practical approach to her work and is someone others know they can rely on when support is needed.

Highly respected by those around her, Kate is known for putting people first and for the loyalty and commitment she continues to show to O’Shea. Whether supporting Sabrina and Steve, helping the team or working through day-to-day challenges, she brings genuine care and consideration to everything she does.

A strong believer in the O’Shea Trades values, Kate’s reliability, trustworthiness and commitment to both the people and the business make her an important part of the O’Shea team.

Kellie is an experienced people, operations and customer service leader with a diverse career spanning the not-for-profit and government sectors. She began her career managing a community-based respite program supporting adults with disability, before moving into government, where she progressed from an Authorised Officer into senior management roles.

During her government career, Kellie managed the $80 million Multi-Purpose-Taxi-Program, overseeing a complex, high-profile program focused on delivering accessible and reliable transport services to the community. She also played a key role in managing the pilot that enabled Uber to join the program, bringing together innovation, operational delivery and stakeholder management.

Kellie finished her government career as a People and Operations Manager, where she developed a strong passion for building high-performing teams, improving processes and creating positive customer experiences.

Today, she brings this experience to O’Shea, with a strong focus on customer service, team performance and operational excellence. She is passionate about ensuring every customer receives a five-star experience and that the team consistently delivers on its promise to customers.

With 19 years of experience in the plumbing industry, Mark has built his career from the ground up, progressing from apprentice to Operations Manager and now Senior Plumbing Coordinator at O’Shea Trades.

With extensive hands-on experience, Mark has worked within teams, led crews and managed jobs and projects from start to completion. His experience across every level of the industry gives him a strong practical understanding of what it takes to deliver quality results.

Highly respected within the team, Mark is known for his loyalty, reliability, helpful nature and commitment to supporting those around him. He is 100% focused on the customer, taking pride in building strong relationships, finding solutions and making sure every customer feels supported throughout their experience with O’Shea.

Just as importantly, Mark is always there to support the team. Whether sharing his knowledge, helping solve a problem or stepping in when someone needs assistance, he is known for being someone others can rely on.
