Mini-Line Gutter Installation and Repair in Melbourne
Mini-line gutters are a compact, practical profile that gets overlooked in favour of more common options. But in the right setting, they’re hard to beat. They handle heavy rainfall well, sit neatly against the fascia, and suit a range of structures where a full-sized gutter would look out of proportion.
O’Shea Trades has been supplying and installing mini-line guttering across Melbourne since 1978.
Whether you’re fitting out a new verandah, replacing worn guttering on a shed or carport, or looking for a cleaner profile on a section of your home, our team can assess what’s needed and get it done properly.
What Is a Mini-Line Gutter?

Mini-line is essentially a scaled-down version of a quad gutter. It shares a similar curved front profile, but sits lower and smaller against the fascia, giving it a neater appearance on structures where a full-sized gutter would look out of proportion.
The back of the gutter is flat, so it sits flush to the fascia board and can be fixed with either concealed or external brackets depending on the application. One standout feature is the front-facing overflow — if the gutter reaches capacity in heavy rain, water escapes forward rather than backing up toward the building.

Installation
Getting mini-line right comes down to fall and fixing. The profile is unforgiving of a poorly pitched run. Water will sit in the low spots rather than draining to the downpipe, and you’ll know about it quickly.
We make sure the fall is correct across the full run, the brackets are properly spaced, and the downpipes are positioned to handle the drainage load. Mini-line is available in the standard Colorbond colour range, so matching your existing fascia or roofline is easy enough.

Repairs
Mini-line gutters are low maintenance, but like any guttering system, they can develop issues over time. The most common problems we see are:
-
Joints or end caps that have started to leak
-
Sections that have lost their fall and are pooling water
-
Brackets that have pulled away from the fascia
-
Cracked or damaged sections from impact or age
-
Blocked or damaged downpipes
If a repair will do the job, we’ll say so. If the guttering has run its course, we’ll give you a straight price on replacement.

Fascias Inspections
Before any new mini-line guttering goes on, we check the condition of the fascia boards underneath. If the timber is soft or deteriorating, new gutters won’t hold the way they should. We flag it upfront and sort it as part of the job if needed.

Where Mini-Line Works Well
The compact size makes mini-line a natural fit for:
-
Verandahs, Carports, and Pergolas – where a standard gutter profile would look oversized
-
Sheds and outbuildings – a practical, low-fuss option for smaller structures
-
Sections of a home where a smaller profile is preferred – particularly under lower rooflines or between levels
-
Heavy rainfall areas – the front overflow design handles water volume well relative to the gutter’s size
It’s also a straightforward replacement for older, smaller quad profiles that have worn out — the visual result is similar, and the performance is generally better.
